Overview

  • The federal government added 86 provincial and territorial museums and galleries to the Canada Strong Pass, complementing the 10 national museums already participating
  • Children under 17 receive free admission to all 96 participating museums and galleries, and youth aged 18 to 24 get half-price entry
  • The pass also covers free admission to national historic sites, parks and marine conservation areas, 25% off camping and discounted Via Rail fares
  • No registration or physical pass is needed; participants simply show up at sites through September 2
  • The initiative aims to drive domestic tourism, bolster local economies and support jobs in light of declining U.S. visitor numbers
