- CBC/Radio-Canada announced on Monday, Aug. 24 that registration for Canadian artists opens Aug. 31 and closes Sept. 9 and is open to citizens and permanent residents aged 18 and older.
- The broadcaster will shortlist finalists this fall, post videos for a public digital vote, and combine that public vote with a music-industry jury to pick the performer.
- CBC will choose the artist first rather than a finished song, then pair the winning performer with songwriters, producers and staging teams to develop the Eurovision entry.
