Canada Facilitates Evacuation of Over 1,000 from Lebanon Amid Rising Conflict

Global Affairs Canada has organized flights to assist Canadians and other nationals in leaving Lebanon as tensions with Hezbollah escalate.

Global Affairs Canada has successfully evacuated more than 1,000 passengers from Lebanon, including Canadians, permanent residents, and their immediate family members.
Flights organized by Canada over the weekend carried 126 passengers on Saturday and 139 on Sunday, as the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah intensifies.
Over 5,000 Canadians, permanent residents, and their families have expressed interest in leaving Lebanon, according to the Canadian government.
Despite the evacuations, there remain over 25,000 Canadians registered in Lebanon, with estimates suggesting up to 45,000 could be in the country.
Commercial flights are still available from Lebanon to various destinations, with departures scheduled in the coming days.
