Overview

• Applications for the Canada Disability Benefit open on June 20, 2025, with first payments issued in July for applications received and approved by June 30.
• Applicants must be 18 to 64 years old, have qualified for the disability tax credit and filed their 2024 income tax return along with any spouse or partner.
• Recipients can receive up to $200 per month, for a maximum of $2,400 annually, to supplement existing provincial and territorial supports.
• The government has committed $6.1 billion over six years plus $1.4 billion ongoing to extend assistance to more than 600,000 low-income Canadians with disabilities.
• Applications will be available online, by phone or in person at Service Canada offices, with community organizations providing navigation services and a new online benefit estimator tool.
