Campbellsville University Wrestler Charged with Murder of Teammate

Charles Escalera, a 21-year-old sophomore, faces murder and burglary charges after the death of 18-year-old Josiah Kilman.

Josiah Kilman, an 18-year-old freshman at Campbellsville University, was found unresponsive in his dorm room and later pronounced dead.
A state autopsy determined Kilman had been strangled, leading to the arrest of his teammate, Charles Escalera.
Escalera, who is also a wrestler and a pre-engineering major, was arrested following a report of a suspicious person in a barn.
The motive for Kilman's death remains undetermined, and Escalera's arraignment is set for March 6.
Kilman's family remembers him as a compassionate individual with a passionate heart for the Lord, and a GoFundMe for his burial has raised over $68,000.
