Rudick's petition to remove the star has garnered over 4,200 signatures, and he has approached several city organizations in hopes of achieving his goal.
Despite the controversy surrounding Trump's star, no star has ever been permanently removed from the Walk of Fame, and there is no known precedent for such an action.
Various organizations, including the City Council, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, and the Hollywood Historic Trust, have varying degrees of jurisdiction over the Walk of Fame, leading to confusion over who has the authority to remove a star.
Trump's star, awarded in 2007, has been vandalized and replaced multiple times, costing over $20,000 in repairs since 2016.
