Overview
- Ryder Cup Europe confirmed on July 22 that Camiral Resort in Caldes de Malavella will host the 2031 Ryder Cup under the official name Camiral Costa Brava Barcelona Catalonia Spain.
- Spain will become the first continental European country to host the event twice, following its inaugural staging at Valderrama in 1997.
- Organizers secured a roughly €120 million public-private financing package, with a final €40 million commitment pending from the Generalitat or private sponsors.
- Environmental revisions removed plans for a third course and luxury housing in favor of merging existing courses, irrigating with regenerated water and adding a 15,000-seat grandstand at hole 1.
- Camiral will host five Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship tournaments starting in 2026 and additional DP World Tour events in 2028–2030 to build momentum ahead of the Ryder Cup.
