Overview

  • The four helicopters took off around 11:14 a.m. on July 3 and spent hours performing aerial circuits over key parts of London.
  • Flightradar24 registered more than 2,000 users following the formation’s progress as it looped around Greenwich Park, the River Thames, the City of London, the Isle of Dogs and the Cutty Sark.
  • Two of the helicopters are outfitted with ball cameras that have been capturing aerial footage of the other aircraft.
  • One helicopter bears the registration G-RYFF, a privately owned aircraft linked to previous film and television projects including Netflix’s Gentlemen and a James Bond movie.
  • Observers have connected the aerial activity to planned filming at Greenwich Pier, a frequent location for on-water and aerial production work.
