Cambria County Man Charged in Fatal Driveway Shooting After 911 Admission

The 24-year-old remains jailed without bail ahead of an Oct. 27 preliminary hearing.

Overview

  • Authorities say Dylan Don Lang, 24, shot and killed Robert Edward Hagen Jr., 55, in a pickup outside Lang’s Jackson Township residence in the pre-dawn hours of Oct. 18.
  • Charging documents allege he shattered the rear driver’s-side window and fired into the back of the driver’s seat with a 9mm handgun.
  • According to 911 records, Lang told dispatchers, "I just shot someone in my driveway," and made further profane admissions that he "killed him."
  • Witness statements cited in the affidavit claim he confronted Hagen after finding him engaged in sexual activity with Lang’s mother in the truck, an alleged motive that has not been proven in court.
  • State police recovered a 9mm pistol and two shell casings, and the coroner determined Hagen died of massive blood loss from an upper-torso gunshot wound.
