Utah quarterback Cam Rising announced he will return for a seventh season of college football in 2024, after missing the entire 2023 season due to a knee injury.
Rising led the Utes to consecutive Pac-12 titles in 2021 and 2022, but was ruled out for the 2023 season after suffering a severe knee injury in the Rose Bowl in January.
Rising's return is expected to boost Utah's prospects as the team transitions from the Pac-12 to the Big 12 in 2024.
Without Rising, Utah struggled in the 2023 season, losing three of its last four games and falling out of the AP Top 25 for the first time since 2021.
Rising started his college career at Texas in 2018 and has only played more than four games twice, making him eligible for an additional season.
