Overview
- The Punjab Public Service Commission declared the PSCSCCE 2025 mains result on November 4, provisionally shortlisting 751 candidates for 331 vacancies and triggering immediate complaints about the shortlist.
- Campaigners and analysts identified 26 groups of consecutive roll numbers covering 86 shortlisted candidates and flagged that one centre accounted for a large share of qualifiers and several rooms produced 10–11 successful candidates.
- Protesting aspirants submitted a memorandum to the President, the Prime Minister, the Punjab chief minister and the CBI and warned they may move the Punjab and Haryana High Court if the commission does not provide satisfactory answers.
- The PPSC has rebutted the charges calling the patterns a statistical variation and saying security and attendance systems were used, while reporters note that proving manipulation would require checking attendance logs, roll-number allocation, seating plans, answer scripts and evaluation data.
- Document verification and interview procedures are set to begin at PPSC’s Patiala office from November 11–17, a schedule that opponents say should be paused pending an independent probe because the outcome will determine final appointments and public confidence in recruitment.
