Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Patch Buffs Aim Assist, Boosts SMG Range, Nerfs Drone Pod

Treyarch previews further Season 1 tuning that will emphasize aim assist activation rules and spawn behavior.

Overview

  • Activision’s Nov. 21 patch reduces the minimum rotational aim assist penalty from 35% to 25%.
  • Assault rifles now suffer more received flinch (.15N to .18N), while multiple SMGs gain longer medium damage ranges, including the Ryden 45K, RK-9, Razor 9mm, Dravec 45, Carbon 57, and MPC-25.
  • Drone Pod is toned down with a longer charge time (2.5 to 3 minutes), shorter active duration (10 to 8 seconds), and lower damage (60 to 50).
  • Endgame is now available to all Black Ops 7 owners, and Zombies’ Ashes of the Damned receives difficulty reductions and encounter tweaks.
  • Treyarch’s design director says Season 1 will introduce nuanced aim assist changes requiring right‑stick tracking for full rotational effect, along with big spawn-system revisions and a larger default minimap view.
