California Piano Teacher Charged With Sexual Abuse of 13-Year-Old Student

Hovanes John Jihanyan, 41, faces six felony charges for alleged abuse over a three-month period at multiple locations.

Hovanes John Jihanyan, a 41-year-old piano teacher, has been charged with six felonies, including continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14.
The alleged abuse occurred between August and November 2024 at the victim’s home, Jihanyan's home and car, and his studio at the French Conservatory of Music in Beverly Hills.
The victim, who turned 14 during the period of the alleged abuse, was Jihanyan’s student at the time.
Jihanyan was arrested on December 13 following a police investigation prompted by a report of suspected child abuse in November.
If convicted, Jihanyan could face up to 29 years in prison and would be required to register as a sex offender for life.
