California Optometrist Charged After Vigilante Sting Operation

Brandon Zoeckler faces charges for attempting to meet a minor for sex, exposed by a civilian group posing as a 14-year-old boy.

Brandon Zoeckler, a licensed optometrist, was charged with attempted lewd acts on a minor and meeting a minor for lewd purposes.
The investigation began after a complaint was filed by People vs. Predators, a civilian group targeting child predators.
Zoeckler allegedly sent explicit images and messages to a member of the group posing as a 14-year-old boy.
He drove to meet the supposed minor at a San Diego County grocery store, where he was recorded and fled upon realizing the sting.
The California Department of Justice and the Department of Consumer Affairs are involved in the ongoing investigation.
