California Mother Charged with Murdering Son After Disneyland Visit

Saritha Ramaraju, 48, allegedly killed her 11-year-old son, Yatin, in a Santa Ana hotel room during a custody visit and faces up to 26 years to life if convicted.

The killing occurred in a La Quinta Inn room, where Yatin's body was found on a bed surrounded by Disneyland souvenirs after a three-day trip to the theme park.
Authorities recovered a large kitchen knife, believed to be the murder weapon, which Ramaraju had purchased the day before the incident.
The case is linked to a prolonged custody dispute between Ramaraju and her ex-husband, Prakash Raju, who had full custody of Yatin following their 2018 divorce.
Ramaraju has been charged with murder and a weapon enhancement, is being held without bail, and is scheduled to appear in court on April 17, 2025.
