California Man Charged with Murdering Couple Over $80K Debt

Huangting Gong, 30, from Glendale, is accused of murdering Kuanlun Wang and his wife Jing Li, both 37, to evade an $80,000 debt.
Prosecutors allege Gong shot Wang in the head on October 12, then kidnapped, attacked, and killed Li before burning both bodies in separate desert locations.
Authorities say Gong stole nearly $250,000 in luxury items from the couple's Brea home after the murders.
Gong was arrested on November 5 at Los Angeles International Airport and is charged with multiple felonies including murder and arson.
The Orange County District Attorney's Office is considering pursuing the death penalty; Gong's arraignment is scheduled for December 2.
