California Man Arrested for Violent Home Invasion and Attempted Nursing Home Kidnapping

David Jonathan Margoliash, 48, broke into a San Rafael home early Saturday morning, attacking a pregnant woman with a flashlight and biting her husband during a struggle.
The husband managed to force Margoliash out of the house and down a flight of stairs before the suspect fled the scene.
Hours later, Margoliash attempted to kidnap an elderly patient from a nursing home, posing as a transport service employee but failing to provide credentials when questioned by staff.
Nursing home employees stopped Margoliash from taking the patient and alerted police, leading to his arrest after nurses followed him and directed officers to his location.
Margoliash, who has a history of violent crimes, is being held without bail and is also awaiting sentencing for a prior assault involving pepper spray at a mosque earlier this year.
