California Couple Sues JetBlue Over Falling Ice Block Allegedly Linked to Plane

Michael Reese and Leah Ferrarini claim the ice block fell from a JetBlue Airbus A321 flying over their Inglewood home on January 1, 2024.
The Federal Aviation Administration's investigation found the aircraft had a history of potable water system issues, including a misaligned valve flange causing leaks that froze at altitude.
The couple alleges the airline failed to address known issues with the plane, which was also linked to a similar incident in Massachusetts in 2023.
The lawsuit accuses JetBlue of negligence and trespass, seeking compensation for property damage, emotional distress, and medical expenses totaling $1 million.
JetBlue denies responsibility, stating their conduct complied with industry standards, and has requested reimbursement for legal fees.
