Calgary Stampeders Place All-Star Reggie Begelton on Six-Game Injury List

Begelton will miss Calgary’s matchup with Ottawa after injuring his knee in last Saturday’s victory in Toronto.

  • Begelton sustained the injury on the second play of the June 7 game in Toronto that Calgary won 29-19.
  • He recorded one catch for seven yards before leaving the field and later returned on crutches with ice taped to his right knee.
  • The 31-year-old Beaumont, Texas, native is a three-time CFL All-Star who has amassed 427 receptions for 5,660 yards and 28 touchdowns over 90 CFL games.
  • In May he participated in mini-camps with the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers before returning to Calgary’s training camp.
  • Calgary is now reworking its receiving corps ahead of Saturday’s home game against the Ottawa Redblacks.
