Overview
- An 11-year-old boy named Parker disappeared from a Calgary day home and was last seen on Thursday in the Thorncliffe area; officers found clothing believed to be his around noon that day.
- Police say Parker is autistic and non-verbal and functions at about a two- to three-year-old level which raises acute safety concerns and means he may not respond if called.
- Authorities do not suspect foul play and have asked residents across the city to check yards, garages, sheds, vehicles and water features while warning the public not to approach him and to call police instead.
- Investigators have reviewed roughly 50 hours of CCTV and dashcam footage, assessed about 30 tips and deployed air support, canine, mounted, mountain-bike and volunteer search teams to canvass neighbourhoods.
