Calgary Man Sentenced to Six Years for Sharing Terrorism Videos on TikTok

Zakarya Rida Hussein pleaded guilty to distributing ISIS propaganda and bomb-making content online.

Hussein was sentenced after pleading guilty to one of four terrorism-related charges.
He admitted to owning social media accounts that posted ISIS recruitment videos and propaganda.
Hussein also shared a bomb-making video online, contributing to his charges.
His arrest in June 2023 followed a joint investigation by the RCMP and Calgary Police Service.
Post-release, Hussein will be under a lifetime ban from owning firearms and must submit DNA results.
