• Calgary announced the hire Tuesday, with Lowry replacing Brad Larsen, who left the organization for personal reasons.
• Lowry most recently worked as an assistant with the Seattle Kraken through early June 2025.
• He previously played for the Flames from 2000 to 2004, served as team captain from 2000 to 2002, and was a Calgary assistant from 2009 to 2012.
• The 60-year-old former winger appeared in 1,084 NHL games and later guided the Winnipeg Jets on an interim basis to a 26-22-6 record in 2021–22.
• The club said Larsen will not return for the 2025–26 season as he continues to address a family issue that kept him away for much of 2024–25.
