Calandagan Named Horse of the Year at 35th Cartier Racing Awards
The French-trained four-year-old secured the top honor with a rare King George–Champion Stakes double.

- The London ceremony also confirmed Calandagan as Older Horse after three Group One wins, including the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, with the King George–Champion Stakes double previously achieved only by Brigadier Gerard.
- Trawlerman was honored as top Stayer following an unbeaten domestic campaign that featured victories in the Gold Cup and the Long Distance Cup.
- Asfoora took the Sprinter award after wins in the Nunthorpe and the Prix de l'Abbaye, becoming the third Australian-bred recipient of the title.
- Three-year-old titles went to Aidan O'Brien's Delacroix (colt) and Minnie Hauk (filly), while the two-year-old awards went to Gstaad (colt) and Precise (filly).
- Broadcaster and writer Brough Scott received the Award of Merit, and Calandagan became the fourth Aga Khan Studs-bred Horse of the Year and the first since the death of Aga Khan IV in February.
