Brian Brandenburg, a family friend, revealed the cause of death in a heartfelt Facebook post.
Daniele was a six-time All-Big West honoree, a two-time Big West champion, and held multiple school records.
She graduated with distinction in agriculture from Cal Poly earlier this year and was known for her leadership and kindness.
A memorial service was held in her honor at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Fresno, with hundreds in attendance.
