Overview
- Deputies responded around 9 p.m. Thursday to a residence on the 3000 block of Oakwood Road in Cameron Park and found a woman dead, with a boy who later died at a hospital.
- The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office identified 47-year-old Darin McFarlin as a person of interest, detained him after midnight in Mono County, and booked him early Friday on two counts of homicide.
- McFarlin, confirmed by officials as a Cal Fire employee, is being held without bail at the El Dorado County Jail.
- A second juvenile from the home was located safe, according to the sheriff’s office.
