• Caixa rescheduled the Dec. 31, 10 p.m. drawing to Thursday, Jan. 1, at 10 a.m. after more than an hour of delay for operational adjustments.
• Bets closed at 8 p.m. on Dec. 31, with online pool bets accepted until 8:30 p.m., and no new wagers are allowed before the rescheduled draw.
• The bank confirmed the top prize at R$1.09 billion, the largest in the lottery’s history, and the Mega da Virada award does not roll over.
• Caixa reported unprecedented traffic peaks of up to 120,000 transactions per second online and 4,745 per second in lottery outlets and activated a virtual waiting room to manage access.
