Caixa Opens Mega da Virada Bets With Prize Estimated Above R$1 Billion

Early sales raise the prospect of heavy year‑end demand with prize proceeds redistributed to quina or quadra if no six‑number winner is found.

Overview

  • Caixa began accepting wagers for the special Mega da Virada contest nº 3.100 on Tuesday, Nov. 3, and projects the prize will exceed R$ 1 billion.
  • Bets can be placed at more than 13,000 licensed lotéricas, on the Loterias Caixa website and app, or through Caixa Internet Banking for account holders until 22:00 on December 31, 2026.
  • The draw is scheduled for 11:00 on January 1, 2027 at the Espaço da Sorte in São Paulo and will follow the special non‑accumulating rules set for the Mega da Virada.
  • By rule 90% of the prize pool is earmarked for sena winners, 5% for quina and 5% for quadra, and any money not won on the six‑number line moves down to the lower tiers.
  • The move revives strong public interest after last year’s record R$ 1.091 billion payout and raises operational pressure on Caixa channels because past editions have seen extreme transaction volumes that strained systems.
