Caitlin Clark Surpasses 3,000 Career Points in Iowa's Victory Over Iowa State

Clark's outstanding performance brings her closer to the all-time scoring record in women's basketball.

  • Caitlin Clark scored 35 points, becoming the 15th Division I women's basketball player to pass the 3,000 career points mark, as No. 4 Iowa beat rival Iowa State 67-58.
  • Clark now has 3,013 points for her career and is just 514 points shy of Washington alum Kelsey Plum for the all-time scoring record in women's basketball.
  • With 20 regular-season games left, Clark would need to average 25.7 points per game to reach it before the Big Ten tournament. She is currently averaging 29.6 points.
  • Iowa also got 16 points from Kate Martin in the win. Iowa State (4-4) got 15 points and 10 rebounds from Audi Crooks, plus 14 points and 12 rebounds from Addy Brown.
  • The Hawkeyes have now beaten the Cyclones in seven of the past eight matchups. Iowa opens Big Ten play on Sunday at Wisconsin.
