CAG Inaugurates Hyderabad Centre to Modernise Public-Sector Financial Audits

Overview

• A Framework Agreement was signed with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India to collaborate on training, research and joint publications in financial auditing.
• Two data-analytics models were demonstrated by ICAI and the Hyderabad commercial audit office to signal initial research priorities for the centre.
• The facility opened at a temporary site in the former Regional Capacity Building and Knowledge Institute within the Accountants General complex, with its logo unveiled and a website template presented.
• CoEFA will operate under the National Academy of Audit and Accounts with technical control by the Commercial Audit Wing, focusing on audits of PSEs, autonomous bodies and urban local bodies.
• The centre becomes the department’s fourth specialised hub after units in Noida, Jaipur and Rajkot, with a three-day workshop on the Companies Act, 2013 commencing at launch.
