Overview

• The CAG-Connect portal is slated to give nearly one million auditee entities a single interface to respond to queries and inspection reports with full tracking and transparency.
• A proprietary CAG-LLM is under development to mine decades of inspection reports, analyse large datasets, flag risks and assist auditors in drafting comprehensive findings, with a first version expected by November 2025.
• Pilot remote audits have concluded and are being replicated, including a data-led GST review run concurrently across central and state offices using a standardised design matrix and validated SQL queries.
• Examples of the shift include Telangana’s remote compliance review of Stamps and Registration, a hybrid Public Works pilot in Haryana, and West Bengal’s paperless PRI certification via a virtual audit system.
• The Annual Conference of State Finance Secretaries on Friday will focus on strengthening reporting for centrally sponsored schemes and leveraging IT platforms, and could be used to present the new portal and publications.
