Overview

  • After a 764-day application, Cadillac secured FIA approval in March 2025 to become Formula One’s 11th team for the 2026 season.
  • Operating from bases in Silverstone, Indiana, North Carolina and Michigan, the GM-backed outfit has hired about 400 of the 600 staff planned for its inaugural campaign.
  • Technical progress spans wind tunnel work since mid-2024, delivery of the first car floor in January, roll-hoop crash testing in May, issuance of 6,000 drawings and manufacture of 10,000 components, with Ferrari engines leased until its own power unit debuts in 2029.
  • The team has adopted a flat, Apollo Mission Control-inspired management model under principal Graeme Lowdon to foster peer-to-peer engineering collaboration across continents.
  • Cadillac is in advanced talks with experienced drivers, including Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez, but has yet to finalize any contracts for its 2026 lineup.
