CableMod has initiated a recall for its 12VHPWR angled GPU power adapters after reports of overheating and potential fire risks.
The recall affects both 90 degree and 180 degree models of the V1.0 and V1.1 adapters, totaling approximately 25,300 units.
Customers have reported at least $74,500 in property damage in the US, though no injuries have been reported.
Affected customers are offered a full refund or a $60/€60 store credit for non-customized products, with free standard shipping.
The recall was prompted by adapters becoming loose, overheating, and in some cases, melting into the GPU.
