Cable Car Accident in Austrian Ski Resort Injures Four

A falling tree caused the car to plummet, resulting in serious injuries and prompting an investigation into the incident.

A cable car in the Hochoetz skiing area of Tyrol, Austria, was brought down by a falling tree, injuring all four passengers on board.
The injured passengers, a family from Denmark, were rescued by helicopter and taken to a hospital. One of them suffered life-threatening injuries.
Two German citizens in the next car along were also hurt by the vibrations of the cable, which did not break.
The cable car facility was temporarily closed following the accident.
Authorities are investigating the accident but have found no evidence of technical or human failure.
