Cabinet Sets 2026 Copra MSP at Rs 12,027 for Milling, Rs 12,500 for Ball

The decision targets better returns for coconut growers.

Overview

  • The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi cleared the 2026 prices on December 12.
  • The new floor is higher by Rs 445 for milling copra and Rs 400 for ball copra compared with the 2025 season.
  • Rates apply to fair average quality and were set on the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices' recommendation.
  • NAFED and the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation will continue procurement under the Price Support Scheme as central nodal agencies.
  • The move extends a multi-year MSP build-up since 2014 and aligns with the 2018–19 pledge to keep MSPs at least 1.5 times the all-India weighted average cost of production.
