Overview

  • First- and second-tranche limits rise to ₹15,000 and ₹25,000 respectively, while the third tranche stays at ₹50,000.
  • Timely repayment of the second loan unlocks a UPI-linked RuPay credit card for quick-access funding, plus cashback incentives up to ₹1,600 for digital transactions.
  • The programme’s reach will expand beyond statutory towns to census towns and peri-urban areas in a graded rollout.
  • Implementation will be shared by the Housing & Urban Affairs Ministry and the Department of Financial Services, with banks and field functionaries facilitating loans and credit cards.
  • The scheme has disbursed over 96 lakh loans worth ₹13,797 crore as of July 30, 2025, alongside 557 crore digital transactions by nearly 47 lakh active beneficiaries.
