Overview
- CCEA approved doubling of the 104‑km Bakhtiyarpur–Rajgir–Tilaiya section in Bihar at ₹2,192 crore, adding capacity on an oversaturated corridor.
- The Bihar upgrade is slated to handle an additional 26 MTPA of freight and is projected to save 5 crore litres of oil and cut 24 crore kg of CO2, benefiting about 1,434 villages and 13.46 lakh people.
- The Rajpura–Mohali rail link in Punjab was announced at 18 km and ₹443 crore, framed to cut journeys by about 66 km and decongest the Rajpura–Ambala route.
