Overview
- The six-year programme will deploy Rs 24,000 crore annually by converging 36 existing schemes from 11 central ministries into integrated agricultural interventions
- It targets 100 underperforming districts selected on low productivity, low cropping intensity and limited credit flow, with at least one district in every state and union territory
- The scheme is expected to benefit 1.7 crore farmers through measures to boost yields, promote crop diversification, expand irrigation networks and strengthen post-harvest storage
- A three-tier governance structure will oversee planning and execution, while District Dhan-Dhaanya Samitis comprising officials and progressive farmers will finalize local agriculture and allied activities plans
- Progress will be monitored monthly on a digital dashboard tracking 117 key performance indicators, with NITI Aayog guidance and central nodal officers reviewing district-level outcomes
