- Ridden by Oisin Murphy for trainer Tomoyasu Sakaguchi, Byzantine Dream finished strongly at Longchamp to beat Sosie, Almaqam and Los Angeles in the Prix Foy.
- Paddy Power shortened Byzantine Dream to 12-1 for the Oct. 5 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, with Sosie also trimmed to around 12-1 after a close second.
- Sakaguchi said the colt was not fully wound up for the Foy and expects improvement for the Arc, while Murphy indicated the horse is best on good or faster going.
- Wertheimer et Frère’s Sosie used the Foy as a comeback run and is intended to return for the Arc if his preparation continues smoothly, according to racing manager Pierre-Yves Bureau.
