• BYU entered the AP poll at No. 25 and the Coaches poll at No. 24 after a 34-13 road win over East Carolina to move to 3-0.
• Utah, which was No. 16 last week, dropped out of both human polls following a 34-10 home loss to Texas Tech and sits at 3-1.
• Texas Tech climbed to No. 12 in the AP poll and No. 14 in the Coaches poll, leading a Big 12 contingent that includes four ranked teams.
• The AP top five realigned with Ohio State at No. 1, Miami up to No. 2, Penn State at No. 3, LSU at No. 4 and Georgia at No. 5.
• Utah and Arizona State received AP votes outside the top 25, while TCU debuted at No. 24 in the AP and No. 25 in the Coaches and Iowa State ranked No. 14 AP and No. 13 Coaches.
