Overview

• The shooting was reported around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Westminster Apartments in the 800 block of Dover Drive near U.S. 31 and County Line Road.
• The victim was identified as 22-year-old Bidan Mburu of Greenwood, who was taken to Methodist Hospital and pronounced dead.
• Investigators say a 21-year-old Indianapolis man fired at another person during a dispute and struck the uninvolved victim instead.
• Detectives, working with Indiana State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service, located the suspect at the Inn Town Suites near I-70 and Post Road in Indianapolis, where Greenwood SWAT made the arrest without incident.
• The suspect is being held without bail at the Johnson County Jail pending review by the county prosecutor, and the investigation remains active.
