BYD’s Denza Launches in Australia With B5 and B8 Plug-In 4WD SUVs

Aggressive pricing signals a premium push before first deliveries in early 2026.

Overview

  • Orders are open with the B5 from $74,990 and the B8 from $91,000 ($97,990 in six-seat form), targeting Prado/Everest and LandCruiser/Patrol buyers.
  • Both body-on-frame models use dual-motor plug-in hybrid systems with LFP batteries, claiming about 90–100 km WLTC electric range and tow ratings of 3000 kg (B5) and 3500 kg (B8).
  • Denza schedules first customer deliveries for late January 2026 for the B5 and late February 2026 for the B8.
  • The retail rollout begins with four standalone showrooms in Sydney (Rushcutters Bay), Melbourne (Kew), Perth (Osborne Park) and Brisbane (Fortitude Valley), with a goal of roughly 15 outlets by end of Q1 2026 and 20–25 by year’s end.
  • The range carries BYD’s six-year/150,000 km vehicle and eight-year/160,000 km battery warranties, capped-price servicing is being finalised, early buyers get cosmetic upgrades, and ANCAP/Euro NCAP assessments are still pending.
