Overview
- ACEA data show BYD captured 1.3% of the EU market in August on a 201.3% sales surge, edging Tesla at 1.2% after a 36.6% drop.
- New-car registrations across the EU, Britain and EFTA rose 4.7% to 0.8 million units in August.
- Battery-electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid models collectively accounted for 62.2% of EU registrations, up from 52.8% a year earlier.
- Stellantis posted a 2.2% rise in registrations, marking its first monthly growth since February 2024, while Volkswagen and Renault gained 4.8% and 7.8%.
