BYD Targets Up to 1 Million Overseas Vehicle Deliveries in 2025

An expanded car-carrier fleet plus fresh model launches drive the export pivot.

  • Overseas sales were under 10% of 4.26 million deliveries in 2024, signaling a sharp step-up in international focus this year.
  • The company now operates eight car-carrier ships, including one capable of transporting 9,200 vehicles, to accelerate deliveries to Europe and Southeast Asia.
  • Overseas deliveries rose 145% year over year in the second quarter of 2025 to more than 258,000 units, indicating strengthening demand outside China.
  • Management has trimmed the 2025 sales target to 4.6 million and is expanding its footprint with a Hungary plant slated for 2026 and a plan to double European showrooms to 2,000 by 2026.
