BYD Secures 2,600 Atto Pre-Orders as Atto 2 Hits Australian Showrooms and Europe Debuts DM-i Variant

The company is leveraging aggressive pricing at home alongside a new plug-in hybrid option in Europe to widen its entry-level footprint.

  • Local pricing starts at $23,990 for Atto 1 and $31,990 for Atto 2 before on-road costs, positioning them as Australia’s cheapest electric car and cheapest electric SUV.
  • Atto 2 began arriving in dealerships from 15 November, with Atto 1 customer deliveries slated to start late December into January; initial shipments are about 1,000 units per model.
  • The Atto 2 BEV launch trims use a 130 kW front motor and 51.1 kWh Blade LFP battery, with a WLTP range claim of 345 km and peak DC charging of 82 kW.
  • BYD launched the ATTO 2 DM-i in Europe with 7.8 kWh (Active) and 18.0 kWh (Boost) options offering about 40 km and 90 km electric-only range respectively, V2L on Boost, and first deliveries planned for early 2026.
