BYD will offer two grades at launch, with the Essential using a 12.9kWh battery for a claimed 71km NEDC range and the Premium stepping up to 18.3kWh for a claimed 100km.
Both versions pair a 1.5‑litre petrol engine with a single electric motor for a combined 156kW delivered to the front wheels.
Local showroom arrival is planned for early next year, with the model positioned below the Sealion 6 that starts at $42,990 before on-road costs.
The five-seat SUV measures 4738mm long, 1860mm wide and 1710mm tall, and provides 463L of boot space or 1410L with the rear seats folded.
Premium equipment highlights include 18‑inch wheels, a surround‑view camera, an 8.8‑inch digital cluster, a 12.8‑inch infotainment screen and wireless phone charging.
