BYD Says Atto 1, Atto 2 Top 2,600 Pre-Orders as Dealer Rollout Kicks Off

Low entry prices have driven early demand, with bulk stock due mid-December, most deliveries in January.

Overview

  • BYD Australia confirms about 2,600 pre-orders across the two new models, including roughly 1,600 for Atto 1 and about 1,000 for Atto 2.
  • MSRPs start at $23,990 for Atto 1 and $31,990 for Atto 2 plus on-road costs, making them the cheapest EV and the cheapest electric SUV in Australia.
  • Atto 2 units began arriving in dealerships on 15 November, and Atto 1 is scheduled to reach showrooms early next month.
  • Stock is expected in greater volumes from mid-December, with some deliveries before year-end and the majority planned for January.
  • Initial shipments total around 1,000 units per model, the lineup offers two trims with a $4,000 step to Premium, and BYD targets about 300 monthly sales per model with a Premium-heavy mix expected.
