BYD Introduces New Atto 3 at Competitive Price to Boost EV Market Share

The move aims to outpace rivals in the cooling Chinese EV market with one of the lowest-priced electric vehicles.

BYD launches a new version of its best-selling EV, the Yuan Plus, known as the Atto 3 in overseas markets, at a significantly reduced price of $16,644 in China.
The price cut of 11.8% makes the Atto 3 one of the lowest-priced EVs on the market, aiming to compete with both EV and ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicles.
BYD's strategic price reduction is part of a larger trend in the Chinese EV market, where companies are offering incentives to attract customers amid a cooling market.
The Atto 3 features enhancements such as a new black body color and two LFP battery options, offering ranges of 430 km and 510 km.
BYD sold over 412,000 units of the Yuan Plus in 2023, with about 42% of its total car exports, highlighting its dominance in the EV market.
