BYD Details Atto 1 and Atto 2 for Australia, Targets Mid-$20k and Mid-$30k Ahead of November Orders

BYD is leveraging LFP Blade batteries and a vertically integrated supply chain to drive down costs for its new entry-level EVs.

Overview

  • Australian deliveries for the Atto 1 hatch and Atto 2 small SUV begin from November 2025, with order books and final pricing to be announced in mid-November.
  • The Atto 1 comes in Essential (65kW motor, 30kWh battery, 220km WLTP) and Premium (115kW, 43.2kWh, 310km) trims and recently aligned with a five‑star Euro NCAP result via its Dolphin Surf twin.
  • The Atto 2 uses a 130kW/290Nm front motor with a 51.3kWh Blade LFP battery for a claimed 345km WLTP range, DC fast-charging up to 82kW and available rotating infotainment screens by trim.
  • BYD is targeting a circa $25,000 entry price for the Atto 1 and low- to mid-$30,000s for the Atto 2, with six-year/150,000km vehicle and eight-year/160,000km battery warranties confirmed.
  • BYD expects roughly 300 units per month per model initially but says supply can scale, and it has also unveiled a Europe-only Atto 2 DM‑i plug-in hybrid claiming up to 90km EV range and 1,020km total, with Australian availability unconfirmed.
