Bybit to Offer 24/7 Perp Options on SpaceX and Nvidia

The product brings round-the-clock options tied to synthetic perpetuals and leaves key settlement, custody and oversight questions unanswered.

Overview

  • Bybit announced on Friday that it will launch Perp Options on Sept. 17 at 20:00 UTC for SpaceX (SPCX) and Nvidia (NVDA), enabling continuous trading outside traditional market hours.
  • The new contracts are options on Bybit’s own perpetual futures (SPCXUSDT and NVDAUSDT) rather than claims on actual shares, so buyers hold layered synthetic exposure rather than equity ownership.
  • Bybit says Perp Options will include fractional lots, USDT settlement and portfolio margin inside its Unified Trading Account, but the exchange has not published full contract specs, settlement mechanics, or margin rules.
  • Because the contracts settle against internal perpetuals and do not use regulated U.S. clearing and settlement infrastructure, the product raises concrete custody, jurisdictional and investor-protection concerns.
  • The launch follows rapid growth in tokenized and synthetic equity-perpetual trading and wider industry moves toward 24/7 equity access, which could expand trader access to after-hours moves while prompting closer regulatory scrutiny and a need for clearer contracts.
