Butane Cylinder Price in Spain Falls 4% to €15.46 After Bimonthly Review

Falling freight costs, plus a modest euro uptick, outweighed higher raw material prices.

Overview

  • The new regulated maximum for 8–20 kg bottled LPG takes effect on Tuesday, 18 November, following publication in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
  • It is the third consecutive reduction, bringing the standard cylinder to €15.46 under the ministry’s pricing framework.
  • The Directorate-General for Energy Policy and Mines recalculates the price every two months using international propane/butane quotations, freight rates, and the euro–dollar exchange rate.
  • Each review is limited to a 5% change per period, with any excess or shortfall carried forward to later revisions.
  • Spain consumes about 64.5 million LPG cylinders a year, and bottled LPG demand has dropped by roughly a quarter over recent years, with sources citing different baseline periods.
